Background

Prosper Global Ventures is the impact investing arm of Prosper Global. We are a family of funds backing visionary early-stage founders building climate solutions where climate risk is highest and capital is scarce. We identify, invest in, and accelerate the growth of innovative climate adaptation and resilience solutions in emerging markets.

Purpose / Project Description 

Impact measurement & management (IMM) is core to Prosper Global Ventures and integrated throughout our entire investment process (see our IMM Approach for more information). Beyond our fund manager level IMM practice, we provide post-investment IMM support to our equity fund portfolio companies and Venture Lab pilot partners. At the fund manager level, a robust IMM practice ensures solutions are aligned with our Resilient Future Thesis and target underserved customer segments, including smallholder farmers, women, informal economy workers, and MSMEs. At the portfolio company and pilot partner level, high-quality IMM is vital for increasing efficiency, strengthening business resilience, and enhancing investment attractiveness by helping companies better understand, manage, and articulate their customer value proposition.

Consultant Objectives 

Prosper Global Ventures is seeking a consultant to provide impact measurement and management expertise across its family of funds. The consultancy is for a 6-month family leave coverage, with potential to extend longer and/or transition into a full-time role, based on performance and fit. 

The consultant will be responsible for implementing fund-level IMM responsibilities for Prosper Global Ventures as well as providing IMM support for Prosper Global’s Investment & Innovation teams, as detailed below.

Consultant Activities

Fund Manager Level Impact Measurement & Management

• Implement the established Prosper Global Ventures’ IMM Approach across its family of funds and in alignment with global frameworks and standards, including the SDGs, the GIIN’s IRIS+, 2X Global, and Impact Frontiers
• Manage bi-annual portfolio company impact data collection for the H2 2026 reporting period, including data verification, cleaning, and analysis
• Produce Prosper Global Ventures’ 2026 Impact Report, including aggregating fund-level impact metrics, gathering fails & lessons learned, and developing case studies.
• Support the launch of the Resilient Future Fund, including updating the pre-existing Theory of Change, IMM Framework, and Climate Adaptation & Resilience Framework, as needed
• Develop IMM-related inputs for fundraising and business development efforts, as needed
• Develop IMM-related inputs for funder reports, as needed

IMM Support for Investments

• Complete full impact and ESG reviews for all new, early-stage equity investments, as outlined in our Investment Process Manual, IMM Framework, and Responsible Investment Policy. This includes:
• Applying our Climate Adaptation & Resilience Framework
• Applying the Five Dimensions of Impact
• Analyzing the degree of thesis alignment
• Analyzing the current and potential impact of investments
• Evaluating the existing evidence base
• Analyzing impact risks and potential negative impact consequences
• Applying ESG and gender screening/considerations
• Identify companies’ current measurement approaches and make recommendations for improvement
• Developing custom company-level impact metrics for investment side letters

IMM Support for Venture Lab

• Complete full impact reviews for all new Venture Lab pilots, as outlined in our Pilots IMM Framework. This includes:
• Applying our Climate Adaptation & Resilience Framework
• Analyzing the degree of thesis alignment
• Analyzing the target population and pilot sample size
• Reviewing and providing feedback on the pilot Learning Agenda, Research Hypotheses, Theory of Change, and KPI Dashboard
• Contribute to the collection and development of pilot insights. This includes:
• Advising on data collection plan
• Reviewing and analyzing endline data
• Advising on endline survey scope, sample, and design
• Reviewing and providing feedback on endline insights, including blogs and reports

IMM Support for Venture Platform

• Provide post-investment support to portfolio companies in IMM, ESG, and climate adaptation & resilience, including leading 2-3 month tailored engagements to:
• Develop/improve their theory of change
• Identify impact KPIs and appropriate measurement methodology
• Advise on internal data systems to collect, clean, manage, and analyze impact data
• Develop/advise on customer insights and lean data surveys
• Develop/improve their ESG policies
• Develop/improve their Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS)
• Develop climate risk and opportunity assessments

IMM Support for Prosper Global’s Investment & Innovation Team

• Provide IMM support to the Innovation Catalyst, including:
• Update Theory of Change and KPIs, as needed
• Advise on strategy and structure, as needed
• Contribute IMM-related inputs to fundraising and business development efforts, as needed

Consultant Deliverables 

The Consultant will deliver the following:

• Prosper Global Ventures 2026 Impact Report (By February 2027)
• Completed H2 2026 Portfolio Company Impact Data Collection (By February 2027)
• Updated fund-level impact KPIs (By February 2027)
• Investment impact reviews (approximately 8-10 per year)  (Rolling basis)
• Pilot impact reviews (approximately 6-8 per year) (Rolling basis)
• Post-investment support engagements with portfolio companies (approximately 2-4 per year) (Rolling basis)

Timeframe / Schedule 

The consultancy will begin in October-November 2026 and will have a 6-month duration, with possibility of extension and/or conversion to a full-time position based on performance and fit, as assessed following the initial 6-month period. The Prosper Global Ventures team will work with the consultant to determine availability, work schedule, and ways of working. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with preference to applications received before October 2, 2026.

• Natalie Vergara, Operating Partner & Head of Latin America Investments (based in Cartagena, Colombia)

The Consultant Will Work Closely With

• Prosper Global Ventures team (including the Investment, Venture Lab, Venture Platform, Marcomms, Operations, and Fundraising sub-teams)
• Prosper Global Ventures portfolio companies
• Prosper Global Ventures pilot partners
• Prosper Global Investment & Innovation teams

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience in impact investing, impact measurement & management, impact evaluation, development economics and/or related fields, with at least 2 years of experience working with impact funds and/or early-stage startups.
• Strong understanding of and work experience in impact measurement and management concepts and industry bodies/resources, including the SDGs, GIIN, IRIS+, and the Five Dimensions of Impact.
• Strong project management experience and ability to remotely manage and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Professional experience in emerging markets (strongly preferred).
• Strong communication skills; written and oral fluency in English required.
• Track record of producing high-quality stakeholder-facing documents, briefings, and presentations.
• Comfort using AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, synthesize information, draft and refine communications, manage knowledge, and build repeatable workflows; demonstrated judgment in applying AI responsibly in an organizational setting.
• Team-oriented and low ego individual who can work collaboratively in a high-performance environment. You care more about learning than being right.
• Experience with, or the desire to work in a small and agile team. You value the diversity of a global team, and bring an authentic, diverse perspective and set of experiences. Prosper Global Ventures is a fully remote team, so candidates need to be comfortable with a primarily digital environment.
