As part of AllianzGI, AIAM operates as the central client interface function to Allianz / AIM for their own account assets, and works hand in hand with AllianzGI’s third-party distribution team in order to deliver AllianzGI’s insurance offering to third-party clients. As an US Insurance Specialist within AIAM and third-party distribution in the US, you will take over key responsibilities to ensure high quality service delivery to Allianz /AIM and to third-party insurance clients in the US. You will report both into the third-party Insurance Distribution team in the US and into the global AIAM team, as part of a multi-location and -functional organization This role requires accomplishing tasks in the areas of client relationship, operational account & project management individually as well as collectively as part of a cross-border team and a functional organization. This position is based in New York and involves regular traveling within the United States and potentially to Europe.


  • Work closely with AllianzGI’s Sustainability & Impact Investment teams as we collectively educate Insurance companies on sustainability best practices via both top-down ESG advisory functions and bottom up ESG integration at the security level.
  • Explore creative ways to increase the prominence of ESG data within insurer’s investment portfolios as the sustainability reporting trend continues to grow.
  • Assume responsibility for selected client accounts as central interface to operational and investment functions on the client side, in the United States, to launch, enable and maintain investments in diverse asset classes and formats
  • Coordinate with Business Development colleagues on client facing activities to introduce, retain and cross sell strategies
  • Drive implementation of new managed mandates or funds along the whole asset management value chain (includes coordination of legal, compliance, portfolio management, IT/ operations, reporting and finance framework)
  • Deliver on day-to-day client requests and business-related activities in a coordinated and result-oriented manner in cooperation with team colleagues and other AllianzGI functions
  • Manage strategic initiatives and projects (e.g. harmonization of activities along the whole asset management value chain, coordination of new business activities especially in the private markets, innovation management for client requirements)
  • Manage and implement changes driven by regulatory requirements
  • Ensure high quality and efficiency in all operational account & project management activities for existing and prospective client accounts.
  • With respect to the insurance market, develop and deliver investment recommendations by collecting, analyzing and interpreting data in the context of clients’ portfolios, asset allocation, specific needs and circumstances, as well as current financial markets
  • Assist in driving the thought leadership initiatives by contributing to white papers and research projects


  • Professional experience in the range of 6-12 years
  • FINRA licenses Series 7 and 63 required or willingness to obtain
  • Successful track record in the financial services industry (e.g. asset management, consulting, investment management);
  • Proven experience in project management especially in the areas of harmonization and implementation of operational solutions, adaptation to regulatory requirements and evolutions, coordination of various functions acting along the full asset management value chain
  • Proven experience in client facing sales activities including bringing innovative ideas to concrete business case
  • Thorough knowledge about Insurance Accounting & Operational specificities
  • Native English speaker, proficiency in German or French is a plus
  • Understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements, Solvency II competency is a plus
  • Self-starter that is highly motivated and drives accountability
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal and intercultural skills
