Marketing and Fundraising Officer

at SIMA Funds in Remote (from India, Pakistan, or sub-Saharan Africa)

About the Job

You will work with the marketing and fundraising team to pursue an annual fundraising portfolio, made up of investors from across the public, institutional, and individual segments. We are fortunate to work with some of the world’s most innovative global funding partners, including AXA, MetLife, Church Pension Group, FMO, DFC, USAID, Shell Foundation, and Heifer Foundation to name a few. You will be asked to collaborate across our investment, marketing, and fundraising teams to support our dynamic portfolio of new and existing projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Research and build a pipeline of fundraising opportunities, from institutions, corporations, foundations, governments, and individuals across the globe.
  • Maintain existing investor relationships.
  • Proposal and report writing: Work with team to design compelling grant and funding proposals and reports.
  • Investor meetings and presentations.
  • Design and execute marketing initiatives on LinkedIn, Google Ads, and email campaigns

We are looking for someone with 2+ years of relevant background in fundraising, marketing, investor relations, or business development. You should be able to demonstrate a track record of business development or marketing success and speak the language of finance, business and impact investment.

Candidate should have strong investor prospecting and researching skills.

Candidate should have strong writing skills, and the proven ability to communicate complicated ideas in a clear, simple, and inspiring way.

Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Likely hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in economics, communications, business, marketing, or international development.
  • Experience managing a CRM system.
  • Experience creating marketing campaigns from scratch with a polished eye.
  • Write and Speak fluent English.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite and graphic design a major plus
  • Track record of fundraising with a team a major plus

Our portfolio companies are opening up new markets by using innovations in microfinance, technology, mobile payment platforms and clean energy to meet the needs of low-income customers. These companies have solid risk/return profiles and growth rates, presenting an important opportunity for impact investors. Over time, we also have ambitions to work in other sectors serving low-income customers, such as in healthcare, sanitation and education.
