Venture Consultant in Africa

at The Baobab Network in Various African cities

About the Job

The Baobab Network is an accelerator that invests in early stage technology start-ups in Africa.

We fund world class founders that are building products solving pressing problems in big sectors like financial services, healthcare, insurance, mobility and education. We invest $25k into each business that we work with and provide a platform for founders to scale globally.

As part of our accelerator programme, we spend a week with each portfolio company in their market, supporting the founders and helping to shape their growth strategy.

Since we launched in 2016, we have offered places on these week long projects to talented professionals around the world that want to spend time immersed in Africa's tech ecosystem, sharing their skills and learning from great innovators on the continent.

We have had over 100 professionals from 35 different countries participate in these projects in the last 3 years, visiting 11 different African cities. Following the experience, Baobab alumni have gone on to start MBAs at Yale and LBS, join VCs in Africa, and even launch their own companies.

Projects last for a week, and our team arrange everything from visas to hotel, office space, transport in country and the project management of the week. For this, we charge a flat fee of £1850 GBP (note this is paid to The Baobab Network, this is not a salaried role). Flights and travel insurance are not included in this.

We tend to work with a new start-up every month, so applications for projects are rolling. Get in touch with your CV if you'd like to learn more about our work and our projects, and we can arrange a call.
