About the Job

The ​Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN)​ is Sri Lanka’s first impact investment firm and is focused on providing social entrepreneurs with access to private capital through equity investments. LIIN is dedicated to investing in entrepreneurs who are solving pressing social and environmental issues in their communities and across Sri Lanka.

Our goal is to develop a thriving social entrepreneurship and impact investment ecosystem in Sri Lanka, empowering MSMEs with access to the knowledge and financial capital required to scale their businesses and social impact.

LIIN actively invests in social enterprises through our impact investment funds and Ath Pavura, a reality TV show for social entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka. LIIN also provides business development support to nurture a well-developed ecosystem of social entrepreneurs across the country.

We are seeking a management trainee to eventually take over the operations management at our organization. For this, you will be expected to (among others) complete the following tasks.
Successfully manage relationships with investors, investees, the UNDP, and other organizational partners.
Draft MoUs, and other agreements pertaining to the partnerships we maintain with universities and other organizations.
Assist investees with business development, marketing, and business registration activities.
Conduct due diligence visits across the island to visit potential investees and assess their businesses for investment viability.
Write due diligence reports to be presented to the investors and any other interested parties.
Organize conferences and forums on issues relating to social impact investing.
Represent LIIN at conferences and forums.
Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders across the social impact space in order to promote LIIN and it’s mission and vision
Assist in the capitalization of Sri Lanka’s first impact investment funds.
Be proactive in the creation of new partnerships in order to expand deal flow for the funds.


-Bachelors degree in finance, international development, economics or related field. Masters is a plus.
-An outgoing self-starter with a passion for impact investing and social enterprise development. Prior experience in the field is a plus.
-Able to work independently with a wide range of stakeholders across the country.
-Team player able to contribute to a small but dynamic team with a positive attitude.
-A basic understanding of finance/accounting
-You are able to understand and analyze a company’s financial statements
-Familiarity or prior experience with impact investing/ development finance is a plus
-Excellent writing skills in English and Sinhala (ability to write in Tamil is a plus)
-Excellent command of Microsoft Office, G Suite
