Senior Partnerships Manager

at Root Capital in Cambridge, MA

About the Job

Working with another Senior Partnerships Manager, this post will lead the strategy for building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with Root Capital’s institutional partners, leading the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of private foundations and corporate foundations, along with some public agencies. As such, this individual will play a critical role in helping the organization meet its fundraising goals and pursue its mission of transforming rural communities by investing in agricultural businesses’ growth. The Senior Partnerships Managers serve as a conduit between Root Capital’s programmatic staff and our institutional partners, collecting and synthesizing information from different departments and areas of operations, aligning that information with the goals and interests of donors, and communicating that vision in a compelling way to achieve our fundraising goals.

Root Capital

Root Capital invests in the growth of agricultural enterprises so they can transform rural communities. These businesses purchase crops such as coffee, cocoa, or grains from smallholder farmers. With growth, they become engines of impact that can raise incomes, create jobs, empower women and young people, sustain peace and preserve vulnerable ecosystems.

Root Capital supplies these businesses with vital resources: access to capital, trade and technical partners, financial training and conservation practices. We work in hard-to-serve geographies where others don’t. To date, we’ve distributed $1.2 billion to improve the lives of six million people in farming communities.
