About the Job

Encourage Capital is seeking a private equity Analyst/Senior Analyst for our New York office to primarily support two investment strategies: a western U.S. focused farmland and ranchland strategy; and an India rooftop solar finance strategy for small businesses. In addition to supporting these two investment strategies, this person may provide support to some of the firm’s other investment teams. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to principal investment experience in both real assets and growth equity.

The individual will be given the following key responsibilities:

  • Executing the day to day elements of the investment process, including screening, evaluating, performing due diligence on, structuring, monitoring, and exiting investments. The work will include intensive financial modeling, drafting investment memoranda, proprietary research, managing outside advisors and working closely with portfolio company management teams.
  • Supporting the development of the investment pipeline by contributing to sourcing, screening and appraising new investment opportunities, as well as conducting comprehensive desktop research in targeted geographies and financial sub-sectors
  • Assisting in the preparation of investor materials

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have two to three years of work experience at a top international financial institution. Preferably, candidates will have had a combination of banking and private equity investing experience with specific experience in financial services. Familiarity and/or a passion for impact investments is desired.

Candidates must have strong quantitative skills, aptitude and experience with financial modeling, knowledge of international markets, great attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to fit into a multi-cultural, entrepreneurial, mission driven and highly demanding work environment.
