Senior Investment Analyst

About the Job

GAWA Capital is seeking a dynamic Senior Investment Analyst with Spanish and English language fluency that will play a key role in our investment process as well as in the management of our portfolio.
The Senior Analyst will directly report to the Co-CEOs of the company and shall be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support the active management of portfolio companies, including monthly financial and social monitoring of portfolio companies and preparation of quarterly reports for the Investment Committee and for our investors
  • Perform industry research and comprehensive and in-depth analysis of target companies and countries
  • Support the sourcing of investment opportunities by initiating, maintaining and deepening contacts with potential investees
  • Prepare detailed investment proposals and due diligence reports
  • Analyze financial statements and prepare detailed financial models
  • Participate in due diligence trips to assess potential portfolio companies
  • Assist in deal negotiation, structuring and review of legal documentation
  • Support day-to-day operations of the funds and of the company including servicing of investments, payments to providers and annual external auditing process


  • University degree preferably in economics, business, international development or related field;. Master degree/MBA is a plus
  • 3+ years of work experience with at least 2 years in investments, preferably in microfinance or other impact investing asset classes
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned projects and associated results
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to social / economic development and strong work ethics
  • Strong attention to detail, confidence and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in multiple projects
  • Good networking skills
  • Willingness to travel abroad on a regular basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong modelling skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish both written and spoken
  • Proof of ability to work in Spain
