DESCRIPTION
Morgan Stanley’s Global Sustainable Finance Group (“GSF”) aims to drive the growth of sustainable investing through development of products and solutions, thought leadership and capacity building initiatives. The GSF team is seeking a Vice President to contribute to the team’s incubation and execution of innovative sustainable investing products and solutions for Morgan Stanley’s wealth management and institutional clients. This individual will focus on growing Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investing with Impact Platform – which aims to provide clients access to investments that generate risk-adjusted financial returns while supporting positive environmental and/or social impact. The Vice President will collaborate directly with Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and other investment professionals across the organization to navigate and develop sustainable investing solutions most appropriate for a wide variety of client segments and situations. Successful candidates will be equally comfortable working on a small team and navigating a global financial services firm. The Vice President may assist with project and process management related to other areas of the GSF team, including thought leadership through Morgan Stanley’s Institute for Sustainable Investing and/or functions of the Office of Sustainability, utilizing a similar skillset.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across Morgan Stanley Institutional Securities Group, Investment Management and Wealth Management business units to assist in developing differentiated sustainable investing products and solutions
  • Assist in driving growth of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investing with Impact Platform by delivering client service, navigating sustainable investment recommendations and developing enhancements to related products, tools and resources
  • Identify strategic and creative opportunities for GSF to engage with firm’s clients, Financial Advisors, investors and industry partners to drive growth and awareness of Morgan Stanley’s sustainable investing capabilities. Assist with event planning, management and logistics as needed.
  • Articulate sustainable investing approaches and solutions to internal and external audiences and partners in a variety of settings
  • Support thought leadership and capacity building initiatives for the Morgan Stanley Institute for Sustainable Investing

QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree; Master’s degree, MBA or CFA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of work experience in financial services
  • Demonstrated career growth in asset management, capital markets, private wealth management, private equity and/or impact/sustainable investing
  • Fluency in sustainable investing approaches and products across asset classes, geographies and impact themes
  • Familiarity with Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) data and impact reporting frameworks
  • Strong and efficient research capabilities, with ability to prioritize and analyze information that is both quantitative and qualitative in nature
  • Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Comfort in juggling multiple priorities; strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently
  • Clear passion for using capital markets to scale solutions to global and domestic economic, environmental and social challenges
  • Series 7 and 63 strongly preferred
